The Guests of Vilenica 2008

Based on the consultants’ proposals, the Vilenica jury have selected as guests, who will introduce themselves at literary readings and in the Vilenica 2008 Almanac, 25 authorsfrom Central Europe, as well as from China / Great Britain, Cuba / France, Russia / the Netherlands, and France. The selection criteria have been literary excellence and plurality – geographic, generational, generic. This year, the jury have intentionally selected a number of authors whose works are scheduled for publication in 2008 in Slovene translations. In addition to these and to Lithuanian literature representatives, Vilenica will also host academics, cultural managers, publishers, and editors – more than 70 guests in the regular Vilenica programme.
