Tone Škrjanec (1953) published his first book of poetry Blues zamaha (The Blues of Swing) in 1997, which was later followed by ten books of poetry, the last one titled Indigo in 2023, two books of selected poems and a book of collected poems Jutro ni bilo v načrtu (Morning was not a part of the plan). He also collaborated with different musicians, in 2006 he released full-length studio album Lovljenje ritma (Catching the Rhythm) a kind of poetry and music fusion with musician Jani Mujič and appeared on three other compilation albums of poetry music fusion.
In 2017 he received the Cup of Immortality Award for his outstanding ten-year poetry oeuvre and in 2018 Jenko Award and Veronika Award for his poetry collection Dihaj (Breathe). His poetry has been translated into numerous languages and ten of his books have been published abroad. Škrjanec is also translator, he mostly translates poetry He lives in Ljubljana.
