Helena Janeczek Will Be Unable to Join Us at the Vilenica Festival

Writer Helena Janeczek has cancelled her participation at this year’s Vilenica Festival, which will take place from 1 to 5 September.

The author informed the festival organisers that, due to her unexpected participation in the Venice Film Festival, which is taking place at the same time as the Vilenica Festival, she will unfortunately be unable to attend the latter.

The film The Girl with the Leica (La ragazza con la Leica), based on her novel of the same name, has been selected for the programme of this year’s Venice Film Festival.

The organisers of the Vilenica Festival were very much looking forward to welcoming Helena Janeczek. While we regret that she will no longer be able to join us, we fully understand her decision. We wish her every success with the film’s presentation at this prestigious international festival and warmly congratulate her on this remarkable international achievement.
