
Maria Josep Escrivà

Maria Josep Escrivà (Grau de Gandia, País Valencià, 1968) is a poet, fiction writer and literary critic. She is employed at the Valencian publishing house Edicions 96, where she is the director of the “Razef” collection of poetry plaquettes. She is also a cultural animator.
With a degree in Spanish Philology and a PhD in Catalan Literature, she has specialised in the work of Josep Piera.
Her most recent collections of poems are Serena barca (Edicions del Buc, 2016. Valencia Writers’ Critics’ Prize 2017), Sempre és tard (Proa, 2020. Miquel de Palol Prize 2020 and Catalan Poetry Critics’ Prize 2020), L’alegria de l’oblit (Edicions 96, 2025), and La casa sota la lluna. Antologia (1992-2022), Pagès Editors, 2023, with poems selected by the autor.
She has also participated in poetry events in Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Mexico and Germany. Some of her work has been translated into Italian, French and, most recently, into English (The Common, 2024) and German (Park, 2023).
